Huskies Compete
✧ ✦ ✧ ✦ ✧“This is where athletes fall in love with the other side of cheer.”

More Than Two Minutes
of Routine.
“Hard work. Accountability. Initiative. Leadership.”
Huskies Compete is our combined 6th, 7th, and 8th grade competitive program. We build pride and commitment in every athlete and prepare them for high school cheer at Forest Hills Northern.
- Independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit — not affiliated with the Forest Hills School District
- One combined middle school team for grades 6, 7, and 8
- Pipeline program to FHN High School cheerleading
- MHSAA-sanctioned competition at the middle school level
- Sideline season is where foundational skills are built before athletes step into competitive

This Is What We Do.
What’s Included
Athletes complete sideline season first — that’s where foundational skills are built. Competitive fees are separate from the sideline registration fee.
✦ ✧ ✦ ✧ ✦Competitive cheer is built around every athlete. Attendance at all practices and competitions is a condition of participation.
What Every Family Needs to Know
During competitive season, athletes practice 4 to 5 days per week. Plan for this commitment before registering.
✧ ✦ ✧Stunts and formations depend on every athlete showing up. Attendance at all practices and competitions is needed.
✧ ✦ ✧Teams compete at invitationals throughout West Michigan, typically on weekends. Full schedule shared at the start of the season.
✧ ✦ ✧Round 2 & Round 3
At the middle school level, MHSAA competitive cheer does not include Round 1. Huskies Compete competes in Round 2 and Round 3 at every invitational. Score sheets are reviewed with athletes after every event.
Teams perform 4 required skills judged on execution, timing, and unison by a three-judge panel.
Teams perform their complete choreographed routine. Judged on stunts, pyramids, tumbling, jumps, motions, and crowd appeal.
How It Unfolds
Athletes who have completed sideline season register for Huskies Compete. The skills built during sideline carry directly into competitive.
Coaches assess each athlete’s skill level.
Athletes sharpen skills and learn the competitive routine.
4–5 day practice weeks with tumbling built in. Stunt clinics run throughout the season to keep building skills.
6–8 West Michigan invitationals. Round 2 and Round 3. Score sheets drive what we train next.
